This is exciting news. I hope it bodes well for RubyMotion and the community!
The first questions that come to mind are 'what about release 5.0?' and 'what about flow?'.
Laurent gave a very interesting webinar about 10 months ago and, at least at that time, flow looked like the answer for true cross-platform coding in RubyMotion. While the motion-flow gem continues to get attention and new commits, the stated goal during the webinar was "will be fully integrated into RubyMotoin 5.0." I, for one, have been eagerly awaiting that release.
I've not been able to make as strong a case for use of RubyMotion as I would like due to the hurdles faced by anyone trying to do cross-platform mobile development. A solid answer, such as flow seemed/seems to be would greatly strengthen RubyMotion's ability to grow in the marketplace. I think the community would appreciate, and benefit from, even a 30,000 foot view of what the landscape looks like over the next, oh, say, six months.
I look forward to the upcoming changes! I'd also be willing to invest some time and effort into helping with the docs if additional (part time) assistance is desirable.
